The Expensive Setup

Here is a quick tour of my setup.  It's kinda loud with all of the water sounds, but hopefully this will work.

Looks really great! I've been looking forward to seeing your completed system for a long time, and it certainly lived up to my expectations. I'm impressed.
Since I wasn't using pre-built components, I had a lot of trouble getting the bell siphon to work reliably, so I ended up going to a timer instead. But because of that, I don't have a constant water level in my sump. I've been trying to figure out how to do a toilet-valve auto-refill like you have (right now I manually top up every week or so), but with the fluctuating water level I haven't been able to puzzle it out.
On the other hand, I've been considering going to constant flow instead of flood and drain, and that would do it. I was running constant-flow in the half-barrel side of the greenhouse, and flood & drain in the large center growbed, and honestly both sides seemed to do fine that way. I'm still mulling it all over.

Nice little video. I like that idea of using a toilet valve to keep the water level from getting too low. I always have trouble with that in the summer when the water seems to evaporate so fast. I assume if city water was just added in small quantities, periodically, it wouldn't be a problem. Now I just keep 5 gal containers full of water, and don't add them until they've mellowed out for 24 hours or so.
